- Kidney failure, Acute and Chronic
- Acute Kidney Failure– also refereed to at Acute Renal Failure (ARF), Acute Kidney Failure is a rapid loss of kidney function which can lead to many complications such as metabolic acidosis, high potassium levels, uremia, and more.
- Chronic Kidney Failure– also refereed to Chronic Renal Disease, is a slower (progressive) loss of kidney function over a period of months or even years. Chronic Kidney Failure is identified by a blood test.
- Kidney stones
- Also known as Renal Calculus, are solid concretion/crystal aggregation formed in the kidneys from dietary minerals in the urine.
- Blood in the Urine
- Also known at Hematuria or Haematuria, could be a sign of a kidney stone, urinary track infection or tumor. Red discoloration of the urine could have various causes.
- Protein in the Urine
- Proteinuria is the presence of excessive protein in the urine. It often causes the urine to become foamy.
- Hypertension
- Hypertention/High Blood Pressure is sometimes called Arterial Hypertension which is a chronic medical condition which the blood pressure in the arteries are elevated. Hypertension is a risk factor for stroke, heart attacks, heart failure and is a cuase of chronic kidney disease.
- Polycystic Kidney Disease
- Also known as Polycystic Kidney Syndrome, Polycystic Kidney disease is a cystic genetic disorder of the kidneys. It is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts, normally on both kidneys. This disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and in rare cases, the heart/brain.
- Electrolyte Disorders
- Electolytes help regulate myocardial and neurological function, fluid balance, oxygen delivery, acid-base balance and much more. Most Electrolyte Disorders are developed through Renal (Kidney) Failure.
- Dialysys Related Care
- In Center Hemodialysis- Hemodialysis is used to achieve the extracorporeal removal of waste products such as creatinine and urea and free water from the blood when the kidneys are in a state of failure. Routine hemodialysis can be an outpatient therapy conducted in a dialysis outpatient facility.
- Home Hemodialysis-Home Hemodialysis is done in the comfort of your home, self started, and managed by a trained helper.
- Peritoneal Dialysis-is a dialysis treatment by way of a tube through the abdomen for patients with severe chronic kidney disease and is used as an alternative to hemodialysis though it is far less commonly used.
- Nocturnal Dialysis-is a dialysis treatment done at night when the patient is sleeping. While they are sleeping the technicians, check on them and the treatment. The longer, slower treatment has many reports of physical improvements as well as appetites.
- Post Transplant Care
- Specialized care may be needed following a transpant.
- Kidney Ultrasound
- There are many reasons a Kidney Ultrasound may be done. One of those could be to assess the blood flow to the kidneys. The ultrasound will tell the doctor many things.
